Batanes is a beautiful province. Everywhere you look at is a postcard but it is inevitable to say that it is still underdeveloped but it can be a good thing since the entire province is being preserved in terms of its natural abundance.  That being said. Hotels are non existent here. Instead hometels and homestays are the popular and most probably the only way to stay in this province, as of 2018.  I booked Marfel's Lodge Annex and availed the Fan Room with just 500 peso rate. AC rate on the other hand is double the rate which is 1000 pesos. There are 4 rooms in the annex which are all having AC and fan on-board. When you avail the fan rate, they just cut the electricity to the AC socket so you can't use it. It is summer when I came and there are times that there will be rain, so it can be cold already but when it is hot, it is really hot. Because the roof is cemented, you can feel heat when it's hot and cold when it's raining. The caretaker is really kind. But she has
